FRANCIS A FAHY

Francis Arthur Fahy was born in Kinvarra, County Galway, in 1854. He emigrated to London in 1873 and lived there for the rest of his life. He became a very active member of the London branch of the Gaelic League.

He wrote many sentimental ballads, love-songs and lullabies; and these were at one time immensely popular though they are now almost entirely out of fashion.

He also published translations from the Irish.

Francis A Fahy died in London in 1935.
